Count timings There will be no overnight counting on Thursday 6 May. The Convener of the EMB Malcolm Burr, has directed Returning Officers to begin the count between 9am and 10am on Friday 7 May.

The EMB has published a position paper explaining how scrutiny of the count must and will be promoted at the Scottish Parliament Election given the necessary restrictions to control the coronavirus.
The EMB has undertaken a further review of the need for multiple days of poll and has submitted its findings to Scottish Ministers.
